About the Workshop:
Join us for a fun, creative evening celebrating the beauty of Mexican folk art in this free community event in collaboration with El Rancho Supermercado!
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how paint and decorate your very own Solecito Wall Hanging using acrylic paint.
No prior art or ceramics experience is needed! This workshop is beginner-friendly and perfect for anyone curious about folk art, symbolism, or simply reconnecting with their creativity.
What You’ll Create:
Each participant will start with a handcrafted ceramic Solecito Wall Hanging made by artist, Jerri Quiroz of Jerri’s Calaveritas. Every Solecito is individually shaped, detailed, and bisque-fired by hand no molds, no mass production... meaning the piece you paint will already be a one-of-a-kind work of art before you even add your own colors and designs.
Jerri will then guide you through the basics of painting, sharing tips, techniques, and ideas to help you make your piece truly your own using acrylic paint. Whether you want to create a vibrant, traditional Lucha Solecito or a modern, expressive version, this is your time to make it uniquely yours.
And the best part? Once you're finished painting, you'll be able to take your Solecito Wall Hanging home with you that same day!
Included in Your Ticket:
♡ One handcrafted ceramic Solecito Wall Hanging by Jerri Quiroz
♡ All the paints, brushes, and tools for decorating your Solecito Wall Hanging
Important Details:
♡ Beginner-friendly – no art or ceramics background required
♡ Wear clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty or dust on (the clay/paint can leave a powdery residue and be messy)
♡ Feel free to bring your own reference images for inspiration
We can’t wait to paint, laugh, and create with you!
Con mucho amor,
💖 Jerri
